STYX AND REO SPEEDWAGON TO PLAY DAILY’S PLACE IN JULY

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Live Nation and Bold Events today announced that rock legends STYX and REO SPEEDWAGON, along with very special guest star DON FELDER, formerly of the Eagles, will bring their "United We Rock" U.S. summer tour to Daily’s Place on Thursday, July 20.  Tickets go on sale at www.dailysplace.com beginning Friday, March 3

"I called up Tommy Shaw last summer and we were both thinking the same thing: let's get the boys together, make some music, and have some fun. REO Speedwagon and Styx together is a head first plunge into the fountain of youth, an unstoppable force of nature. Add the amazing Don Felder to the mix and it's a thundering slam dunk,” said KEVIN CRONIN of REO Speedwagon.

Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James "JY" Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo, would eventually transform into STYX by the late '70s and early '80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads.  Over the course of their 40-year career they've released 15 studio albums, six best-of compilations and four live albums, garnering eight Top Ten singles. STYX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

REO Speedwagon's unrelenting drive, as well as non-stop touring and recording, jump-started the burgeoning rock movement in the Midwest. Platinum albums and freeform FM radio staples followed, setting the stage for the release of the band's explosive HI INFIDELITY in 1980, which contained the massive hit singles "Keep On Loving You" and "Take It On the Run," and spent 15 weeks in the No. 1 slot. To date, REO Speedwagon has sold 40 million albums around the globe, with HI INFIDELITY approaching ten times platinum status in the U.S.

Don Felder, former guitarist of the Eagles, New York Times best-selling author and four-time Grammy® Award winner, released his second solo album (and first since 1983), ROAD TO FOREVER, on October 9, 2012 and has been on tour throughout the U.S. ever since.

POSTMODERN JUKEBOX AND STRAIGHT NO CHASER TO CO-HEADLINE DAILY’S PLACE IN AUGUST

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Live Nation and Bold Events today announced that vintage pop sensation POSTMODERN JUKEBOX and a cappella superstars STRAIGHT NO CHASER will join forces this summer for their first co-headline tour, including a stop at Daily’s Place on Aug. 2.

Fans of the two classic-meets-contemporary bands, both of whom mash up classic pop stylings and modern hits in their own unique fashions, can begin purchasing tickets this Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. EST.  Jags365 and Daily’s Rewards Members will have access to presale tickets Friday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. EST.

Both bands deliver contemporary songs with timeless flair - the stylistic diversity, real musical and vocal skill, and dedication to craft of a bygone era. Straight No Chaser shirk the blazers and khakis of campus a cappella groups, training their jaw-dropping vocal prowess and soulful harmonies on past and current hits. SCOTT BRADLEE’S Postmodern Jukebox reimagines contemporary pop, rock and R&B hits in the style of various yesteryears, from swing to doo-wop, ragtime to Motown – or, as Bradlee himself puts it, “pop music in a time machine.”

In the process, both groups have found remarkable success and attracted dedicated fanbases who appreciate their unmanufactured talents and joyous energies. Since Bradlee created Postmodern Jukebox in 2009, the project has amassed more than 650 million YouTube views and 2.5 million subscribers, and chalked up more than 1 million likes on Facebook.  The multi-talented collective has interpreted hits by Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, The White Stripes, Lorde, Outkast, Radiohead, Maroon 5 and many more.

Straight No Chaser originally came together in the fall of 1996 at Indiana University, quickly setting itself apart from other a cappella groups with its contemporary repertoire and dynamic approach. They have released six full-length albums, three collections of holiday favorites and three that take on classic songs by artists like Elton John and Marvin Gaye as well as current megahits from Hozier, The Weeknd and Meghan Trainor. The group has played to countless sold-out audiences, making them continuously one of the top 25 touring artists in North America, according to Pollstar magazine.

Daily’s Place is currently under construction adjacent to EverBank Field, the home of the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars.  A partnership between the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville, the state-of-the-art facility’s 5,500-seat amphitheater and flex facility will sit beneath an iconic roof structure, creating a one-of-a-kind outdoor concert atmosphere. Chicago-based band Rise Against’s most recent album is The Black Market, which hit No. 1 on the Alternative, Top Rock and Hard Rock albums charts. Alternative Press awarded The Black Market four stars, noting, “Whatever meaning you take from them [the songs]…one thing remains solid—the sheer heart with which they were forged and the very visceral emotion they contain” and Kerrang praised the album as “a magnificent wake-up call.” Rise Against is Tim McIlrath (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Zach Blair (lead guitar), Joe Principe (bass) and Brandon Barnes (drums).

Deftones have released eight studio albums to date – including 2016’s Gore – and have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. “Hard rock thrives on conflict and chaos, and no band has found more beauty and soaring aggression within those ingredients than Deftones,” said the Los Angeles Times.
